Integration: New TKSTAR Models on GPS-Trace

🔍 A Brief Overview of the TKSTAR Brand

GPS-Trace continues to talk about new integrations and manufacturers on our blog.
Today we will talk about SHENZHEN JUNEO TECHNOLOGY CO., LIMITED, well known to our users thanks to the trackers under the TKSTAR brand. This is a manufacturer with many years of experience and a wide range of GPS devices — for both personal use (vehicle monitoring, personal belongings, pets) and for business (logistics, transport companies, etc.). The company’s assortment includes models that support 4G networks.

Previously, this manufacturer’s devices were already presented on the GPS-Trace platform. However, the manufacturer is not standing still, it is developing and offering its customers new GPS tracker models, including those operating on a new protocol. Accordingly, we have integrated the new protocol and added 13 new models (TK935, TKS1, TK901, TK913, TK905B, JTK905-4G, JTK905B-4G, TK818, TK911PRO, TK919, TK918, TK905MINI, TKS2) to the list of devices supported on our platform. Total number more than 30 models.

It is worth mentioning that the manufacturer produces identical tracker models under different brands: TKSTAR, TKMARS, and WINNES. If your device has any of these logos — you can safely use it with our solutions: Ruhavik and Forguard.

📦 What’s Inside the Box: Package Contents

As part of the integration of new models, the manufacturer provided us with one of the devices for testing. Within a couple of days, the JTK905-4G tracker arrived at the office — in a box labeled TKMARS GPS Tracker, which also had a sticker with the model TK905 and a mention of the WINNES brand.

The package included: the tracker itself, a manual in several European languages, a charging cable, a SIM card with 1 day of free access, an adapter and a SIM card key, an EU/UK declaration of conformity, and a storage pouch.

The device left a positive impression: neat assembly, a compact matte body resistant to fingerprints, waterproof connectors, and a powerful built-in magnet for quick attachment to a metal surface.

🔧 Connection and Setup Process

Connecting the tracker to our platform is as simple as possible and does not require any special skills. Below is a step-by-step guide.

📲 1. Installing the Ruhavik App

Download the Ruhavik app from:

🧾 2. Creating an Account and Unit

2.1. Create an account or log in to an existing one
2.2. Click the “+” button to add an unit
2.3. Select the tracker model and enter its ID/IMEI

Creating Account TKSTAR Ruhavik

⚠️ Important!
If your device ID begins with 959, you are using the JTK905-4G or JTK905B-4G model.
In this case:

    • Add the prefix 00 before the ID — you must enter a 12-digit number, for example: 00959xxxxxxx
    • Make sure to select the exact device type: JTK905-4G or JTK905B-4G — even if the packaging is labeled simply as TK905.

2.4. Save the settings — the unit will be created.

📡 3. Tracker Setup via SMS

To ensure that the device transmits data correctly, send the following SMS commands to the SIM card number in the tracker:

Purpose Command
Enable GPRS GPRS123456
Set APN apn123456 apn_value
APN Username (if required) apnuser123456 username
APN Password (if required) apnpasswd123456 password
Set server and port adminip123456 IP PORT (specified in the “Hardware” section)
Set timezone (UTC+0) timezone123456 0
Set data upload interval upload123456 10 (from 10 to 300 seconds)
Sleep by shock mode sleep123456 shock
Sleep by time mode sleep123456 time

After that, the tracker is configured and ready to use — you just need to take the device outdoors so that it can see the satellites and start sending data to the platform.

📶 What Features Does the Tracker Support

The JTK905-4G tracker is a waterproof device designed for vehicle and asset tracking, featuring LTE support, strong magnetic mounting

According to the manufacturer, it supports real-time positioning (with up to 5-meter accuracy), 2G/4G connectivity, voice monitoring, multiple types of alerts. The tracker is equipped with a 5000 mAh battery,  and allows for historical route storage, multi-device management, and simultaneous tracking from multiple phones.

Features supported on the GPS-Trace platform:

The GPS-Trace platform accepts all parameters supported by the device’s protocol. In fact, the TKSTAR tracker can transmit up to 46 different parameters to the system. A full list can be found on the device page on flespi.

In practice, this set of data is sufficient for:

  • real-time tracking;
  • receiving notifications for trip start/end and geofence entry/exit;
  • generating trip history and statistics;
  • monitoring battery charge level.

The tracker JTK905-4G operates in two modes. By default, it uses sleep-by-shock mode — if no movement is detected for 5 minutes, the device automatically enters sleep mode and stops transmitting location and other data to conserve battery and mobile traffic.
Alternatively, it can be configured to sleep by time mode, regardless of movement, allowing for flexible tracking behavior depending on your use case.

It is these tracker modes that allow you to save battery.

🔋 Battery Life and Power Consumption

The manufacturer specifies up to 80 days of autonomous operation.
However, such performance is only achievable in minimal power consumption mode, when the device stays in sleep mode and rarely connects (e.g., sends a heartbeat once per day).

Once the tracker begins transmitting data more frequently — especially during movement — power consumption increases.

Testing the JTK905-4G under real-life conditions showed that with daily activity (2–3 hours a day — e.g., commuting and school trips), the tracker can operate for about a week on a single charge.

📉 The chart below from the Forguard app shows that the battery level dropped by 73% — from 94% to 21% — over 7 days.

Battery consumption statistics

This allows us to estimate the total autonomous operation time under similar usage to be approximately 9 days.

🏁 Conclusion

With the recent integration of new TKSTAR models, GPS-Trace continues to expand support for popular and affordable tracking devices. Newly added models offer a practical combination of functionality, flexible installation, and long battery life — making them suitable for both personal and business use.

If you already own a TKSTAR, TKMARS, or WINNES tracker — simply connect it to our Ruhavik or Forguard apps. The setup takes just a few minutes, and you’ll gain full access to real-time tracking, notifications, route history, and more.

We’re committed to supporting a wide range of devices and making modern GPS tracking accessible to everyone. Stay tuned for more integrations and updates — and as always, thank you for choosing GPS-Trace!
